Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice format.
  • The work was not published or presented, even partially, in events, congresses or other means. If so, justify "Comments to the editor".
  • The electronic addresses (URL) for the references were informed.
  • The text is if ibetween the lines; uses a 12-point font; uses italics instead of underlining (except URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments; references are in their own topic at the end of the text.
  • Informed the e ORCID ID of each of the authors
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, on the About the Journal page..
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • REVISTA SUSP publishes results of master's and doctoral research, however, in cases of studies carried out with human beings through interviews or questionnaires, the journal requests the insertion in the magazine's platform, as an attachment, the document that proves that it was submitted to the appreciation of the Human Research Ethics Committee.

    The requirement is due to the rule and requirements of Brazilian educational institutions, so that all research projects involving human beings (directly or indirectly) will have to be submitted to the CEP for consideration and approval.

    Otherwise, the author(s) may submit a letter from the institution stating and authorizing it.
  • Indicated to which section the work is being sent, in the "Comments to the editor" box. (Article, Essay, Translation, Experience Report, Literature Review, Review, Technical Note or Interview)
  • Verified that the format of the article is consistent with ABNT standards and with the template provided by REVISTA SUSP (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD) .

Author Guidelines

The publication of articles is subject to the opinions of members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc collaborators. The selection of articles for publication takes as basic criteria their contribution to public safety and to the editorial line of REVISTA SUSP, the originality of the topic or the treatment given to it, as well as the consistency and rigor of the theoretical-methodological approach. Any changes in structure or content suggested by the reviewers or the Editorial Board will only be incorporated with the agreement of the authors. The manuscript must comply with the template provided by the journal (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD).

Article

Main section of the REVISTA SUSP, for original and unpublished articles, preferably using the available model.

By original and unpublished, it is understood that the works have NOT been or are not being evaluated for publication in any other support.

Authoring:

I - authorship by holder of a doctorate degree or higher, in co-authorship or not with other researchers, the latter holding any degree;
II - authorship by holders of any other degree, provided that they are co-authored with holder of a doctorate degree, or higher; and
III - authorship by public security professionals who have at least the graduation title. § 1 The maximum percentage of 25% (twenty-five percent) of the articles, by edition, to the authors mentioned in item III.

Essay

Essay is the reflection on a certain topic, without exhausting it, it is not investigative and brings the opinion of the author

Translation

Translation is a text that covers the interpretation of the meaning of a text, written in a language other than Portuguese, and that is relevant to the area of public security.

Experience reports

Experience reports are original communications on public security research and professional experiences.

Literature review

Literature review is the text with all the existing information about a publication in an impartial and complete way. The text must present itself critically and not only descriptively, from the point of view of the author, the state of the art of one of the specific areas or subareas.

Review

Review is the analysis a work distinct from an informative composition and without opinions. It can be a text, film, music and any other forms that have as subject the public security

Technical note

Technical note is the text prepared by technicians specialized in a given subject and contains a complete analysis of the entire context, and must contain a history and legal basis, based on relevant information.

Interview

Interviews with leading national and international public security figures.
