INVENTARIO DE ESTRATEGIAS DE PREVENCIÓN DEL DELITO A TRAVÉS DEL DISEÑO AMBIENTAL (CPTED) PARA ESPACIOS PÚBLICOS

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo desarrollar un instrumento de evaluación post-ocupacional para verificar los factores que influyen en la conducta delictiva y el miedo al crimen en espacios públicos. El instrumento se construyó a partir de una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre prevención criminal a través del diseño ambiental, en busca de elementos que identificasen características ambientales específicas relacionadas con el delito real o percibido. Los elementos elaborados fueron analizados por jueces especializados en arquitectura, derecho, seguridad pública y psicología. En busca de validez y confiabilidad, el inventario fue testado en 10 ambientes públicos del Distrito Federal por 24 aplicadores capacitados para tal fin. Con base en criterios psicométricos, se obtuvo un instrumento que contiene 58 ítems categorizados en 7 dimensiones: Iluminación, Mantenimiento del Espacio, Wayfinding, Vigilancia Natural, Territorialidad, Yuxtaposición Geográfica, y Emergencia y Accidentes. El instrumento demostró ser capaz de facilitar análisis e intervenciones tanto en entornos seguros como inseguros. Tales medidas, además de promover la seguridad, contribuyen a: la saludfísica y mental de la población; el crecimiento económico; y la reducción del gasto público en crimen y em miedo al crimen.
