Risco cardiovascular e o papel da aptidão física para o bombeiro militar

Neste estudo, abordamos os principais riscos cardiovasculares associados às atividades laborais de bombeiros, com a apresentação de formas de mensuração dos componentes de aptidão física relacionados à saúde, que podem servir como ferramenta de screening na identificação de profissionais com maior propensão a determinadas comorbidades. Inicialmente, são descritas sucintamente as atividades de bombeiros e a sua sobrecarga cardiovascular relacionada ao combate a incêndio. Em seguida, são apresentados os fatores de risco à saúde que têm sido alvo de investigação neste grupo ocupacional. Posteriormente, enfatizamos a importância da boa aptidão física para minimizar o risco de eventos cardiovasculares e, por último, discutimos a importância do teste de aptidão física como forma de avaliação dos componentes de aptidão física. Ademais, são apresentadas evidências da efetividade da parceria efetivada com a Universidade Pública, bem como da implementação de políticas públicas de promoção da saúde com vistas à redução dos danos ocasionados nesta classe trabalhadora que tem como objetivo salvar vidas.
